No, Really, Who Created All This Weirdness?

"That was Then, This is Now" Version

Some months after "Juniper" first started hanging out online, I began to post as "Quezovercoatl the Feathered Boa" (hi, Mr. Pratchett!) on the newsgroup alt.toys.transformers... truly an eye-opening experience for me. Never had I met so many people with the exact same immature outlook on the world as myself. I quickly managed to score myself the title of "Official ATT Hypocrite", and even found some souls kind enough to humour me by being my friends, aka my Minions in my Quest to Take Over the World. From ATT, I quickly made the transition to IRC, or Internet Relay Chat, where I hung out with my favourite ATT people and minions as "Quezovercoatl", "Twotone", "EvilArcee", and "Mi'raj".

A name says a lot about who you are, so I'll explain each one below.

Quezovercoatl, the Feathered Boa

This is based on a character in Terry Pratchett's novel "Eric". Quezovercoatl (also Quetzovercoatl) is "The Tezuman God of Human Sacrifice", and is worshipped by the astonishingly Aztec-like Tezumans. He is described as "Half-man, Half-Jaguar, Half-Chicken, Half-Serpent, Half-Scorpion, and half-mad...."

As I'm not half-man, I took the liberty of adding a "wo" to the relevant part of that description, and adopted that identity for myself while posting on ATT. I use a special ASCII smiley (when I remember to do so) to show my kitty-chicken-serpent-scorpion-y-ness:

Two-tone

Also known as Twotone, this "nick" is actually based on my fanfic character, Twotone the Beast Warrior. More information on her can be found in my Beast Wars Section.

Evil Arcee

Evil Arcee is the Dark Seductress of the Evil Autobot Empire. Her hobbies include adding items to her Utility Belt of Love and finding innuendo in the innocent words of others.

Mi'Raj

According to the book Bestiary: An Illuminated Alphabet of Medieval Beasts (by Jonathan Hunt), a mi'raj is a Persian species of unicorn, or one-horned beast. It's described as "a yellow hare with a black spiral horn growing from its forehead" and is apparently a "vicious carnivore". I wish I could have one as a pet...

More About Me

I'm a student in the Faculty of Arts at the University of British Columbia, as of August 1999. The future is still wide open for me; as an English Student, I once considered becoming a high school educator, but working at an office as part of my student co-operative education work-term has taught me that office-work can also be interesting, if not downright fun.

My interests (other than the ones painfully detailed herein) include writing fantasy fiction and poetry, reading fantasy fiction (especially children's literature), and sewing stuffed animals.
