Once upon a time in 1997, a somewhat impetuous young individual started a website.
It was going to share a love of now-defunct TV shows such as Gargoyles,
The Tick and Due South with the whooooole world.
Instead, it evolved into an online journal and repository of virtual pet/artificial life
information and factoids. The Aptenodytian Empire started as a tiny 5-page dealie, moved up to Geocities, and made a big earth-shaking move to Xoom in 1999. Many new interests were added
to the site in bits and pieces.
Then Stuff happened.
Real life Stuff.
UNPLEASANT Real Life Stuff.
Meanwhile, Xoom went from "unlimited webspace" to "unlimited webspace, with an ugly XOOM bar
on top" to "unlimited webspace with a big ugly animated NBCi bar on top" to "nonexistent".
Although I had been keeping my abandoned site on the NBCi servers as a resource and a favour
to people who had linked to it, I was alerted to the fact that attempts to access my site now
resulted in a 404 message.
This site is an archive of what my XOOM site looked like. It has the exact same information,
HTML, images, and links as when I left it. As a result, links to other pages may be broken,
information may be out-dated or incorrect, and the layout may be very, VERY ugly. If you are
led to a 404 page, or are misinformed, or are blinded by the sheer unattractiveness of the site,
you have been warned.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
This archive will eventually be taken down, so please contact me if you plan to link to it.
If I am aware of who has linked to this page, I can e-mail them if and when the archive
is taken down (or moved to another server).
In addition, linking to any of the sub-pages may confuse people who do not realize that this site
is no longer being updated. Please link only to http://archives.berrymarket.cjb.net, so that
they can read the above notices.
Although the content in these pages is no longer being updated, that does NOT mean that
the images and text may be used on other pages, linked to without crediting me, or used in any
way that makes it unclear as to where they were taken from.
If you know which sub-page you want to visit, please click on the appropriate button.
