When I first downloaded and successfully installed PostPet 2001's trial version on my computer, I decided to get a Big Mouthed Hamster (aka Big Mouse Hamster); although penguins are my all-time favourite animal, I also have a soft spot for hamsters and other small critters.
The default name for the Hamster character in PostPet 2001 is "Jinpachi", which is an old fashioned boy's name; the closest I can come to is something like "Jebediah" or "Tex" or some other name that sounds like a character from a spaghetti western. (No offense is intended to non-spaghetti western people named Tex or Jebediah or Jinpachi). I decided to keep that name, even though my little hammy was a female.
I ended up having to say goodbye to Jinpachi when my dad requested that I remove all unnecessary programs from the family computer (bleah!), so these are some of my only remaining memoirs of Jinpachi...
(You may need a Japanese browser, or a program such as MVIEW to see the Japanese text properly. Let me know if you'd like to know where to get MVIEW.)

From this, you can tell several things:
(P.S. ... I eventually got a second PostPet 2001 Hamster, named Kellogg.
This is a picture of Jinpachi and Twotone, above (in the default Penguin Room).
This is a picture of Kellogg with a dear Teddy Friend. Can you tell which is which?
