Look at these hands
bony and ragged

Look at these nails
horn-like and hard

Before men first
learned how to fight
we knew:

These claws were made for digging.

Pictured here are Onua and his people, biomechanical beings of earth.
Many of these people are miners and excavators,
building massive cities underground.
The many years of working in darkness has made their night-eyes keen.

Onua, Toa of Earth

My third Bionicle!

"But why are you so bent and stooped?" laughed the boy.
The stranger looked at him with strange, glowing eyes.
In a voice like the thundering of mountains, he whispered:
"Before this night is through,
you too shall bear the weight of the earth..."

Onua guards the earth, making his home in tunnels and caves.
His hands act as mighty shovels, clearing away rocks and loam alike.
Onua's keen vision and sharp hearing are proverbial:
it is believed that he can hear a falling rock miles away.

Whenua, Turaga of Earth

My third Turaga!
Beneath my hands
Beneath my feet
The earth and rocks sing a song
With every rumble
With every swing
We join their song

The people of Onu-Koro live beneath the earth, tunneling and creating
vast subterranean cities. They are led by Whenua, chosen as leader
for both his or her strength and wisdom.
Although the people of Onu-koro are often the smallest in Mata Nui,
Whenua is always treated with dignity and respect.

Hafu

My first Tohunga!!

"I cannot say from whence I have come,"
whispered the Villager, trembling.
"Nor can I say why I have come to your village.
All I ask is safe haven, that I may live without fear..."

There are many tales of why the Stone Villager Hafu lives among
the people of Onu-koro. Hafu himself adds to the mystery,
refusing to confirm or deny any of the tales. Perhaps none are true;
perhaps all are true. Perhaps Hafu himself has forgotten.
The key may lie in the mysterious mask which Hafu keeps, yet never wears...
