Here are the quadrupeds, the four-legged beasts, of Mata Nui.
. . . The Fire Beast
The Fire Beast paused, its forehoof held in mid-air.
"And what will you give me in return for your life?" "Anything, anything! I swear to you, in the name of all the Toa!" The Fire Beast's eyes sparked like fire as it snarled: "LIAR!" The Fire Beasts are reputed to be violent, vicious and vengeful. There are countless tales of their cunning and their foul temper, yet not much is known of the creatures themselves. They are known to have low-slung bodies with bent legs, and glowing eyes. Tradition has it that they spew fire and bleed lava. The Fire Beast has a habit of moving its head from side to side as it walks. This is believed to be a holdover from its draconian ancestry, when the eyes would have been set on opposite sides of the head. Pictured below is a rare silver-headed Fire Beast. It is believed that the silver Fire Beasts have greater power than the normal Fire Beasts, being closer in appearance to their master Tahu. . . . The Embernese Mountain Dog
. . . The Lava Lizard
Again, the surfers heard the strange moaning sound.
They looked at each other with growing unease. "Are you sure it's just the wind?" asked one, not noticing the shadowy shape rearing up behind him... The existence of the Lava Lizard has yet to be confirmed. If the rumours are true, then there exists in some of the volcanos a mysterious reptile which swims in liquid fire, propelling itself with vast paddle-like limbs. Locals also claim that the creature uses ball-like stumps on the ends of its limbs to walk upon the land, causing awkward holes to appear in roads and golf courses. . . .
