LEGO TECHNIC: BIONICLE

Watery Realm of the Bipeds

The sea
mother to all

watches over us
holds us in her loving arms

sings to us
in her soothing voice

whispers to us
words of great wisdom...

Pictured here are Gali and her people, biomechanical beings of water.
They populate the islands and sea-cities of Mata Nui, building
their domiciles out of driftwood and seaweed and other gifts of the sea.
Many say that life is a beach, but only these people know it to be true.

Gali, Toa of Water

My second Bionicle!
"Do not bow down before me," quoth the Toa.
"I would rather see the light in your eyes
than the fear in your downcast face."

Gali protects the seas, the rocky shores, the beaches and the islands.
She is associated with water of all kinds, and legend has it that
she may be called forth from any body of water, be it lake or stream.
Her hook-like claws are said to have been the first gift to her people.

Nokama, Turaga of Water

My second Turaga!
Then one Villager, taller than the rest
stood before the Toa, bold and clear-voiced:
"Our people are frightened.
The Rahi prey upon us. Tools alone
are not enough."

And Gali smiled...

Rarely is the High Priest of Gali a male, for it is believed that
Gali will speak only to those who are as bold and wild and giving
as the sea, mother and grave to all. The High Priest is traditionally
called Nokama, and bears the three-pronged staff of office.

The Sea Swirler

My first custom water-being!
The jealous sea, all alone
Takes our children, fathers and men
The generous sea, with heart of stone
Gives back their bodies, cold and spent

The Sea Swirler is the embodiment of the destructive face of the sea.
With four clawed and hooked hands, the Sea Swirler whirls her limbs
to shred and rend any foolish enough to enter her watery realm.
The Sea Swirler often lives in caves and grottoes, although some claim
to have seen her sunning her piscean tail upon the rocky islands.
